Vids from MPRA Races 11 & 12

Sorry it has taken awhile, but things have been busy. It was a good weekend overall having won three out of the four races, but of course Tyler, Dan M, and Jon weren't there -- taking the weekend off after the Great Salt Race. Unfortunately I forgot to turn the camera on during two of the races. The two that had the most action of course. :(

Anyway here is the main race from Sunday. I've shortened it since I was on pole and never got passed, but figured the Porsche drivers may like to see their race. I also meant to get Dan D's aftermath, but looks like I grabbed it a lap late and the EV's were already taking off. I'm also still playing with the camera position. It is kinda tight in a Miata and you really need a wide-angle lense, but since I don't have a budget for that, I moved it to where you can see the gauges and my hands, but it catches some of the roll bar. I think it is a better trade off than where it was before.

I'll see about putting up Sat's race next week that has a bit more action (Vimeo only allows you to upload one free vid a week.)

It would have been a much better weekend had I not found this after the last race. Better the last than the first I guess.

Jon is once again abandoning us and the URG to go adventuring in Afghaniraqistan, so we're throwing a farewell party for him. It's at my house, because it can hold a lot of guests, and a giant projector screen for us to play DiRT on, watch rally stuff on, etc. Bring a 360 controller, because I only have two.

Anyway, be here, or be lame.

Sorry for the short notice, but I just found out yesterday that Jon leaves Monday, so time is of the essence.

Dave Strong Porsche and The Intermountain Region of the Porsche Club of America cordially invite you and all your track friends to a High Performance Drivers Education event. Designed by internationally known track designer, Alan Wilson, our home track offers a 4.5 mile, 24 turn road course with a 3550 foot front straight.

When: September 24th, 25th & 26th, 2010. <---- You can sign up for one, two or all 3 track days!
Where: Miller Motorsports Park, Tooele UT <----- Full Track
Cost: $275 for one day, $495 for two days or $675 for all 3 days. This is the cheapest price you will find for a FULL TRACK event.

Mustang Experience Package Deal at MMP

Miller Motorsports is offering a special on a pretty fun little package, which includes:

-- Mustang Experience - 30-min classroom followed by some lapping in a prepped GT. 10 laps driving w/ instructor and 2 laps riding. Not too exciting for most of you, but could be a good gift for spouse, kid, etc.

-- 10-minute Karting Session

-- Guided Tour of the Auto Museum - There is some amazing stuff like the original LeMans GT40's, every Shelby and AC cobra you can imagine, etc.

Normally, the Mustang Experience is $300, the Kart Session is $15, and a museum ticket is $25.

Package is $150. Has to be purchased by this Sunday, but can be used anytime within the next year. You can purchase the groupon online, but I'd appreciate if you'd use this link. It gets me some referral credit.

Grand-Am / NASCAR Volunteers - 9/10-9/12

Grand-Am and NASCAR are on their way back to Miller motorsports park, and we are in need of MANY volunteers to help us with flagging and communications. Please come out and get the best seat in the house!

We're supporting Friday 9/10 - Sunday 9/12, and need lots of volunteers for each day.

Hi guys and gals, I am selling my pride and joy to go debt free. I am the second owner of this car, I purchased it nearly 3 years ago when the original owner traded it in for a Mercedes. When I purchased the car it had just over 40k miles on it and I have managed to add only 12k more miles in nearly 3 years. Oil and fluids all checked and changed regularly (Castrol Syntec Full Synthetic and Factory Subaru Oil Filters for those who are concerned). This car has a clean title and runs exceptionally well.

Unfortunately, I have been too busy to track and race the car like I had anticipated.
