The event was pretty fun except for the cold and high winds on Saturday.
And I would like to thank Jon for the Saturday night dinner and after race lunch on Sunday (the same food ). I think it ran pretty smoothly, much better than last year. Thanks to all that made this happen again.

I was floored at how few people made it out for this western states championship!!
I can only guess weather predictions and actual road closures put the kabosh on lots of out-of-staters' trips

It was a serious bummer but understandable that more folks couldn't make the trip, although on a personal note a bit more encouraging (my under-geared, low-powered lifted rig) that the PA classification was only 5-deep

Word on the street is that MMP may let us do summer events though, and as always we're still on the hunt for more locations in Utah... So there's hope for more events this rally year!!

Regarding photos, there was a pretty clear point made that folks working the stations were not to be taking camera-phone or other photos while working. As such, i'm not sure how many folks were or did take pictures. Of course Nephi? (the regular photographer who shoots great pictures and clips together great videos) was there on Saturday, but unfortunately couldn't make it out Sunday when the course was coincidentally awesome!!

Awe, come on, that was AWESOME!!
But it's true Sunday's weather made up for the cold, wind and slight precipitation Saturday.

I'm sorry I missed it but work did take precedence for me; although I was hoping for a last minute reprieve so I could go.

I can't understand why more people didn't make it out. Initially it had very little publicity in the NW and I only saw it from the SCCA calendar by accident when I went to download the 2011 rules. I had posted the announcement on three of the boards I frequent and although there were views there, almost no replies. I'm really not sure why that might be.

From what I saw of the first day's results it looked to me like the event was well run (getting 8 runs in on a medium length course is no small feat) and it looked like there was some real competition. I couldn't tell from the entry list where folks were from, but it looked like mostly local competition. If that's true there are some wusses out there (myself included this time) that couldn't make the trip.

Hopefully, you manage some summer events and if there's a lull in the NW scene, I'll make it out to one of your events. Keep up the good work.
